“I want to be a school teacher when I get older. Teachers are very important people. They help you learn things you will need all of your life to make you a better person. Also, they teach you how to learn things on your own – how to teach yourself. Respect your teacher and do your best. Reach for the stars!”

QUESTIONS FROM THE KIDS

Where did Sarah live?

She lived on a farm just outside Wapakoneta, Ohio. After her mother died she moved to town and stayed with Granny Evans.

What would you think if Sarah’s mom didn’t die, but instead was very sick?

If Sarah’s mom didn’t die the book would not be the same. This book is about a very strong girl who overcomes one of the hardest things in life, losing a parent. It’s not easy, but it can be done. Although Sarah hurts inside, she is special because she wants to help others. She shows it’s possible to go on with life, yet never forgetting her mother.

What is your third book called?

Sarah's Escape

What kind of books do you like to read?

I like books about American history, fiction and non-fiction. I especially like westerns with cowboys, cattle and old towns.
